This site is centered around Charles Septimus Clarke who is my great-great grandfather. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1863 at the age of 21 and settled in the township of Little Omaha (Leigh). He kept a diary for most of his adult life – these are now held at the Warkworth Museum and also published online. On my Journeys family history site I wrote a summary of the lives of some of my ancestors, but I found this one page format really didn’t do justice the wealth of knowledge we have about CS Clarke. Hence I created this site to give a broad view of his life and his history.
